In-Home Educator:
Early Years

The Montessori approach helps your child develop a fundamental, enduring love of learning. Montessori combines highly intentional learning materials, rich social development, and a joyous approach to practiced independence.

Guidepost at Home allows you to bring this exceptional pedagogy—used in Guidepost schools across the world—into the comfort of your own home.

Our In-Home Educator program for early childhood offers an alternative to the traditional nanny or au pair: one-to-one or small group Montessori-informed care. Amplify your child’s confidence and independence with the Montessori approach, delivered by one of our qualified caregivers in your home (or in a home pod). Our caregivers have completed our “Montessori for the home” course, and many are enrolled in our full Montessori teacher accreditation program. Our team will help you set up a home environment with the right furniture and equipment, along with providing key Montessori materials, to support your child’s burgeoning independence.

What’s included?

  • Montessori-informed programming for children ages 0-6
  • Options for: private care (single family), shared care (two families), or pods (3-5 children)
  • The vetting, hiring, and training of a qualified educator (guide)
  • Peace of mind, as Guidepost at Home employs your guide, and takes care of all taxes and benefits
  • Home set-up including key Montessori materials to optimize your child’s at-home learning environment

For shared care:

  • The opportunity for your child to socialize with other children while maintaining an intimate student-educator ratio
  • Financial savings from sharing the cost of care with other families.
  • Assistance finding other families interested in joining a pod, through use of our Matching Map.

For families located near a Guidepost Montessori school-based elementary program:

  • Opportunities for your child and family to participate in Guidepost community events.
  • The option to shift to a school-based program when available.

If you move:

  • Priority waitlist placement at any Guidepost School in the world.

How it works

  1. Tell us about your family by completing your pre-registration form.
  2. Match with another family, or choose private care. Our Matching Map can help introduce you to other local families looking for care.
  3. Get to know your in-home educator! Work with your in-home educator to set up your home environment with developmentally appropriate materials sent from Guidepost at Home
  4. Begin care! Let us take care of the curriculum, paying your in-home educator, and providing key educational materials as your child develops

“Children are amazing! They’re capable of so much”

I would describe my care as organic. I deal with the whole child; meeting each child where they are emotionally, physically, cognitively, and socially, and work from there.

When I’m working with kids, my goal is to make them feel important and special. I want each child to know that they are capable and to feel proud of who they are.

“I love to help children build independence.”

I’m very enthusiastic and involved. I love getting down on the floor and really playing. I’m a former preschool teacher, so I like to plan development appropriate activities.
